The Pietrak Hotel Chain
It all started at the
beginning of the 70-ies. Then, a new
name, Pietrak, appeared among the entrepreneurs of Gniezno. Initially,
Mr. and Mrs. Pietrak took up the champignon production and soon a
mushroom growing centre was established on their initiative. The next
stage of their activity was developing the food-processing base, the
final stage being entering the foreign market. The capital gained in
this way the Pietraks decided to invest into an enterprise which would
ensure all the family the future and promote the region.
First, a department store was opened in the tenement house bought from
the descendants of Bolesław Kasprowicz. As time went by, following the
demand on the market, the first catering facilities were started. Jerzy
and Elżbieta Pietrak began their new activity with establishing a
restaurant in the ground floor of the building. The owners have been
emphasising quality ever since then. The elegant interiors and
professional service drew clients' attention. Numerous guests were
asking about accommodation while visiting the restaurant. The questions
encouraged the owners to adapt the adjacent tenement houses and join
them together into a hotel and gastronomic facility.
The Pietrak Hotel Chain boasts numerous awards and certificates, for example:
- Commercial sign 'Wielkopolska Jakość' (The Wielkopolska
Region Quality) for the high standard of hotel and gastronomic services
- The 'European' title (three times) for its hotel and gastronomic
activity
- 'Złota Sakiewka' (the Golden Pouch) for the best investments in a
hotel and gastronomic complex
- Nominee for 'Hit 2001' title for a high standard of service
- Honourable Entrepreneur of 2001
- 'The Grand Prix of the Wielkopolska Region' certificate
- 'Dobre Bo Polskie' (Polish therefore good) service quality certificate
